Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Valencia, CA

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is responsible for the management of safety and environment as well as deploying annual strategic priorities, leading investigations, and implementing Environmental corrective actions.  The Manager of Environmental, Health and Safety reports to Site Director and includes responsibilities of the EH&S Generalist. 

Key Responsibilities 

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include: 

  • Develops and executes annual safety and environmental strategy with a focus on transitioning the workforce from a reactive to proactive state

  • Develops, teachers and coaches employees on safety, environmental and security  programs

  • Oversees accident investigation program, conducts root cause analysis, and implements solutions to eliminate potential risks

  • Coordinates and implements measures to assure compliance with laws and regulations affecting safety, environmental and security programs

  • Leads and coordinates inspections with various regulatory agencies

The ideal candidate is recognized as technical expert in the safety and environmental space who is ready to lead the site through our transition from a reactive to proactive space. You are a strategic thinker who is able to put together the foundational elements of our safety and environmental programs into a strategic plan which we can put resources behind and deploy across the site.

  • Technical expert in Safety and Environmental space

Capabilities & Skills Required 

In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have: 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of government regulations/code compliance, including California OSHA, environmental, and other relevant regulations

  • Excellent oral and written skills to communicate at multiple levels in the organization and create strong compelling business cases for change

  • Strong investigation and problem-solving skills, follows a standardize process to determine root causes and demonstrates a bias for action to implement solutions

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and quickly establish and maintain relationships at all levels across the organization

  • Leverages network, peers, and influence to solve problem

  • Education:

  • Requires a four year degree in business, safety and/or related field.

  • ​​ Requires five to eight years of increased management responsibility in the areas of safety and security in a manufacturing environment.

Annual Pay

Annual Pay Range

$125,100.00 - $187,600.00

This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate’s starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.  This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.
