The Sr. Research and Development Technician provides leadership and troubleshooting expertise in the development and manufacture of softgels, tablets, 2-piece capsules, and other forms. Prepares bench top prototypes, and evaluates feasibility pilot samples, and/or scale up batches.
Critical contribution this role is counted on to deliver:
Reformulates existing products under minimal supervision. During production makes suggestions to improve product manufacturing.
Works with and trains technicians and professionals in the operation of manufacturing equipment processes and manufacturing techniques.
Troubleshoots and investigates manufacturing problems, monitors the processes and assists with optimizing formulations and/or processes as required.
Prepares pilot, feasibility, stability, manufacturing scale-up and process verification batches.
Independently operates laboratory, pilot plant, manufacturing instruments and equipment.
Maintains documentation on all projects and submits written reports in a timely fashion.
Interfaces with other operating units within and outside the department. Presents ideas and suggestions for product and/or process, equipment improvements, improved laboratory, pilot plant and manufacturing operations.
Ensures preventative equipment maintenance is performed as required to reduce/eliminate accidental injury.
Maintains cleanliness of the laboratory and pilot plant.
Ensures Pharmavite Safety Requirements, SOP’s and c’GMP’s are followed in assigned project areas.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

You’ll be most successful in this role if you have:
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or an FDA regulated industry
Knowledge of auditing principles with keen attention to details
A continuous improvement mindset that ensures corrective/preventative actions are effectively established for non-conformances and proactively recommends/implements improvements
Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment
Capabilities & Skills Required
In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have:
Requires a High School diploma/GED or nine years work equivalency
Minimum seven to ten years experience in pharmaceutical, nutritional, food or other CPG in manufacturing.
Comprehensive knowledge of product and process development, manufacturing equipment, processing/testing laboratory techniques and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated ability to assemble and disassemble equipment using a variety of hand tools.
Good time management skills so assignments are completed on time.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
Math skills required to calculate averages, percentages and process times.
Ability to interpret data
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Comprehensive knowledge of formulation functionality for excipients and active ingredients.
Basic to intermediate computer skills in MS Word and Excel, Power Point preferred.

Annual Pay Range$64,400.00 - $96,500.00
This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate’s starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.
Pharmavite provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non-exempt (hourly) employees in accordance with state and federal law. The need to work overtime hours will be determined by management, based on customer and business necessity to meet the needs of our business, Pharmavite may require employees to work overtime.
Voluntary overtime requested by non-exempt employees must be approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor.
