Our Sanitation Technician (Plant) team members are responsible for a wide variety of routine cleaning duties to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment which Pharmavite requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:

  • Keeps plant facilities clean and orderly.  This includes:

    • Using brooms, vacuums, waxers, burnishers, powered equipment and mops to clean floors.

    • Picking up and disposing of trash and litter in compactor and other trash receptacles.

    • Using rags, sponges and brushes to clean furniture and fixtures.

    • Washing walls and other surfaces.

    • Maintain production areas as assigned

  • Collects and crushes cardboard and fiber board drums; utilizes bailer to contain trash materials.

  • Maintains routine logbooks and work description charts.

  • Performs all duties in accordance with safety procedures; understands and follows MSDS guidelines on chemicals used in cleaning. 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an individual who is able to keep the facility and grounds maintained at a level that helps avoid contamination with at least 3-years prior janitorial experience, but it is not required. This person must have the ability to collaborate, work in teams and be flexible.

Critical Success Factors

You’ll be most successful in this role if you have:

  • High school diploma / GED, 3 years equivalency of related work experience.

  • A working knowledge of cleaning activities, use of power and manual tools, and cleaning chemicals within 90 days of hire is required.

  • Ability to read English sufficiently to understand operating procedures, label instructions for handling chemical cleaners and solvents, and MSDS sheets; ability to speak English to communicate with department leaders and co-workers and receive/follow verbal instructions.

  • Ability to write basic English to maintain cleaning logs and work description charts.

  • Ability to stand/walk and perform physical labor for a full working shift.

  • Pull, push, squat, etc. to accomplish thorough cleaning using hand dollies, pallet jacks, or other mechanical aids as necessary.

  • Perform repetitive job duties for much of the time.

  • Intermittently lift loads of up to 50 pounds.

Capabilities & Skills Required

To take on these challenges, you’ll need to have:

  • A working knowledge of cleaning activities, use of power and manual tools, and cleaning chemicals within 90 days of hire is required.

  • Ability to read English sufficiently to understand operating procedures, label instructions for handling chemical cleaners and solvents, and MSDS sheets; ability to speak English to communicate with Department leader and co-workers and receive/follow verbal instructions.

  • Ability to write basic English to maintain cleaning logs and work description charts.

    • Utilize a bailer to contain trash materials.

    • Maintain routine logbooks and work description charts.

    • Perform all duties in accordance with safety procedures; understands and follows MSDS guidelines on authorized chemicals used in cleaning.

    • Must be capable of following the MSS Master Sanitation Schedule for alignment with regulatory requirements.

    • Must be capable of working 24/7 shift with rotating days off

    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The salary range for this position is $40,000.00 - $64,000.00

Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws. 

Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment.  Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental and vision benefits, 401K match, and other wellness benefits.  

Pharmavite provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non-exempt (hourly) employees in accordance with state and federal law. The need to work overtime hours will be determined by management, based on customer and business necessity, to meet the needs of our business. Pharmavite may require employees to work overtime.
