The QC Laboratory Supervisor Responsible for leading a high performing team of analysts and support staff to execute Pharmavite Quality Control processes and achieve daily, weekly and monthly results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and cost. Maintains robust and vital relationships with employees and cross-functional partners. Model’s Pharmavite purpose, beliefs and values for their employees.
Key Responsibilities
Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:
Timely release of laboratory materials in accordance with Pharmavite procedures and cGMPs.
Partner cross-functionally as necessary to investigate product and material failures (Quality Assurance, Operations, Technical Operations, Analytical Services).
Represent QC organization on key cross functional teams and initiatives to drive continuous improvement across lab support operations
Engage and inspire assigned team to achieve daily, weekly and monthly results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and cost.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is energetic and self-motivated, with a strong ability to lead a team effectively. You are approachable and know how to get the team engaged and motivated to accomplish their tasks. Your knowledge of general laboratory activities and test methods allows you to determine the optimal training solutions for new staff to bring them up to speed quickly and safely. You are outgoing and work well with cross functional and cross site partners to ensure product release and back up laboratory practices are employed when needed. You inspire confidence in others and can easily step up to report status to management, since you always know what the status of laboratory materials is.
Critical Success Factors
You’ll be most successful in this role if you have:
Excellent organizational and communication skills
A demonstrated ability to engage a diverse group of scientific personnel while maintaining a positive environment that enables growth and development.
Understanding of fundamental principles & nuances associated with relevant test methods (Chemical, Micro, Physical), is strongly preferred. Examples include:
USP and other compendial test methods related to dietary supplements for identity, strength, quality and purity.
Analytical methods using chromatography instruments such as HPLC, UPLC and GC.
Analytical methods using spectroscopy instruments such as Atomic Absorption (AA), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), Infrared (NIR, FTIR), Raman or others.
Microbiological testing of raw materials, bulk product and environmental monitoring (rapid and traditional methods).
A fantastic sense of humour
The ability to adapt quickly and appropriately to changing priorities and needs
Capabilities & Skills Required
In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have:
A four year degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other related life science
Five or more years of relevant experience in a quality control or contract laboratory in a regulated industry (dietary supplement, nutraceutical, food, cosmetic, OTC / pharmaceutical).
Bench experience with physical, chemical and/or microbiological testing related to one or more relevant industries: dietary supplement, nutraceutical, food, cosmetic, OTC / pharmaceutical.
Direct supervisory experience in a laboratory setting is strongly preferred.

National Target Base Pay Range: $78,000.00 - $128,000.00
The salary range for this position is based on national standards. For candidates in California and the New York metro, the Target Base Pay Range is $86,000.00 - $142,000.00, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas.
Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.
Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment. Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K match, and other wellness benefits.
