Position Summary:

The overall responsibility of the Lead role is to inspire manufacturing operations to achieve timely daily, weekly, and monthly results in the areas of safety, quality, cost, and reliability while meeting department schedule adherence and attainment goals. Models Pharmavite’s purpose, beliefs, and values for their employees by embedding a first-time right mentality to reduce operational NCRs and reject/destruction costs, promoting robust root cause problem solving/CAPA development capability within their team, and meeting schedule adherence and attainment goals to deliver customer requirements. Is accountable for the development and execution of the annual operating plan for their assigned area, aligning departmental goals and objectives to the strategic vision for the value, as well as setting, and prioritizing quarterly and monthly objectives and the day-to-day execution of their assigned department.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and set the standard and tone for their team by modeling Pharmavite’s purpose, beliefs, and values and while driving meeting schedule adherence and attainment goals to ensure customer requirements are met within the agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Develops associates to reach their maximum potential and builds a highly skilled, highly regarded, and initiative-taking customer-focused team. Owns the career path progression program plan for their department.
  • Ensure productivity, safety, housekeeping, and quality product goals are met/exceeded; coordinates daily scheduling with other departments to facilitate flow of materials and finished goods through the department. Monitors operations of the day while sustaining changes to ensure first-time-right mentality.
  • Collaborate with Production Planning, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Distribution, HR, Tech Ops, Engineering, Planning, Operational Excellence, Finance, and Receiving departments to expedite and facilitate flow of raw materials, intermediates, and finished product through the department.
  • Supervisory responsibility for Operations Engineer: ensuring standards are updated at an appropriate frequency, investigations and corrective actions are being implemented to drive continuous improvement within the department. I
  • Investigate NCRs working in partnership with Quality to drive root cause problem-solving with urgency.
  • Champion/coach teams on Autonomous Maintenance projects and daily improvement initiatives, partners with Operations Excellence around execution of kaizen events to deliver annual objectives and improvements.
  • Perform analysis of raw material usage and product yields to ensure we meet or exceed standards and will lead initiatives to deliver on cost savings projects within their department
  • Sets the tone and establishes expectations to ensure customer, quality, and safety needs are met and or exceeded, positively impacting production metrics.
  • Ensure safe practices are being performed and unsafe behaviors and conditions are corrected.
  • Coaches team in problem-solving techniques to identify and eliminate technical challenges to equipment and processes, and remove obstacles for their employees.
  • Establishes Annual Operating Plan for their department and oversees and ensures operating expenditures to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Leads by example through our Operating Values and is highly visible on the manufacturing floor and in touch with the pulse of their operation across all the shifts. Views the leadership role as supporting employees to enable them to be their best self and inspires them to continuously improve.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education:

  • A four-year degree or its equivalent combination of education/relevant work experience is required.

Certification:

  • Six Sigma and or Lean/Continuous Improvement experience preferred
  • Obtain internal Lean Green Belt certification and Kata coach within one year of employment.

Experience:

  • Requires minimum of four years of experience in manufacturing with experience as a shift or department supervisor/leader preferred.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing consumer packaged goods is highly desired.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Competent knowledge of SOPs, cGMPs, within a CPG and regulated environment
  • Experience working within a rapidly evolving environment, able to adjust to changing job requirements, working in a start-up environment, setting standards, articulating vision, and creating a high-performing culture
  • Experiencing Leading and coaching AM projects, daily improvement initiatives, and Kaizen events
  • Experience ensuring that improvements and procedures are sustained through ongoing coaching and auditing of their assigned department
  • Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving, oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems. JD Edwards and Power BI skills are a plus
  • Ability to lead delivery of required results in Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost across all shifts and ensuring shift transitions are successful.
  • Experience coaching, developing, and building high performing teams; including cross-training and empowering individuals.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate operational tasks and duties.
  • General manufacturing experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment preferred. This role has responsibility over a 24x7 operation and will require a flexible schedule to ensure the appropriate visibility and leadership across all the shifts.

Environment:

  • Exposure to disagreeable elements as may be found in a typical manufacturing environment is moderate but constant.

Safety:

  • The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or others

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • The incumbent has direct supervisory responsibility for 5 to 12 employees and next-level leader responsibilities for over eighty employees.

Travel:

  • Up to 10%, and may require more extensive travel during the first year to onboard, train in assigned dosage form, and qualify new equipment.

National Target Base Pay Range: $78,000.00 - $128,000.00 

The salary range for this position is based on national standards. For candidates in California and the New York metro, the Target Base Pay Range is $86,000.00 - $142,000.00, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas. 

Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment.  Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K match, and other wellness benefits.
