POSITION SUMMARY

The Key Account Manager is responsible for contributing to the development, management and growth for PHV and the Nature Made, MegaFood and new products This role assists in developing and executing strategic revenue driving activities 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include: 

  •  Performs to sales and expense goals in assigned area of responsibility. 

  • Prepares a business plan and strategy to maintain and increase distribution of all Pharmavite items in designated accounts 

  • Responsible to maintain and grow Pharmavite business within Regional Retailers, Regional Wholesalers and the Regional Retailers they service 

  • Monitors and identifies competitive activity within channel 

  • Manages Promotion forecasting to maintain all budget limits including co-op, promo allowances, and distributor costs. Partner with finance partner to track and report progress against budgets for trade allowances and track trade spend.  

  • Responsible for managing Pharmavite’ s Omnichannel business activity within their customer portfolio. This will include developing sales and marketing strategies along with ensuring content is accurate. 

  • Responsible to partner with and manage a team of brokers across different broker organizations. You will be responsible for communication and implementation of company goals and priorities throughout broker network.  

  • Responsible for cultivating relationships of Regional Grocers and Wholesalers within your responsibility. This will include maintaining strong communication at multiple management levels within the separate organizations. 

  • Responsible for following Pharmavite policies and procedures regarding daily and monthly tasks; these include but not limited to sales reporting, quarterly personnel reviews, expense report management, and facilitating meetings. 

  • Effectively communicates and partners with various Pharmavite teams outside of Sales organization, including finance, marketing, demand planning, customer service, and others to collaborate on account strategies and resolve any issues. 

  • Partner with Pharmavite Customer Marketing team to create and implement marketing and promotional programs for the individual Retailer and Wholesalers in your responsibility. 

  • Review and interpret sales reports, both internal and external POS tools, such as Circana and similar platforms. Partner with the Pharmavite category management team to develop strategies for products, product mixes, and product positioning to drive revenue goals. 

  • Attends industry events and tradeshows to implement company priorities, enhance knowledge and provide networking opportunities for future Pharmavite business opportunities. 

  • This role requires regular travel (approximately 20-60%), primarily for: 

    • Customer, client and partner meetings 

    • Team offsites and strategic planning sessions 

    • Corporate, sales team and cross-functional partner meetings 

    • Professional events and conferences  

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

 The ideal candidate will be self-motivated possess strong time-management skills. Strong communication and presentation skills are required for daily tasks. The candidate must have business acumen to analyze sales, financial data and market trends to make informed decisions. The candidate will show strong aptitude for building and maintaining relationships both internally and within their Retailer and Wholesaler account responsibilities. 

Other required characteristics include: 

  • Proficient in various negotiation tactics 

  • Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams including marketing, finance, supply chain and others 

  • Strong problem-solving abilities – identifies issues and develops creative solutions to overcome challenges  

  • Strong organizational skills  

  • Understanding of the CPG industry, products and competitors within VMS 

  • Motivated to achieve sales targets and exceed performance expectations   

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS

You’ll be most successful in this role if you have: 

  • Competent knowledge of the CPG industry and FDMC channel.  

  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and in presentations.  

  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally 

  • Ability to work with and lead cross-functional teams 

  • Ability to build and cultivate strong customer relationships 

  • Strong analytical skills 

  • “Team first” mentality: take on other assignments as needed to support the team 

  • Knowledge of online retailer and marketplaces; understanding of ecommerce and digital selling channels.  

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Circana 

  • Understanding of the P&L and selling strategy to deliver on P&L objectives 

CAPABILITIES & SKILLS REQUIRED

In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have: 

  • Requires 3-5 years field sales experience with either a manufacturer, broker or retailer (purchasing/category buyer) with an emphasis in the HBC (Health & Beauty Care) or Nutritional category preferred.  Key Account experience and headquarter knowledge is preferred. 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Business or Marketing degree is preferred

SALARY RANGE

National Target Base Pay Range: $96,000 - $162,000. The salary range for this position is based on national standards. For candidates in California and New York metro the Target Base Pay Range is $106,000 - $180,000, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas.

Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.

Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment. Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental and vision benefits, 401K match, and other wellness benefits.
