The Group Controller is responsible for strategic and financial guidance for a multi-plant manufacturing operation. This role manages all financial activities for manufacturing facilities and is a strategic partner to the Divisional VP of Operations. The Group Controller reports to the Director of Supply Chain Finance and manages a team of 3 Plant Controllers and their teams.

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:

  • Responsible for managing/delivering financial results for all manufacturing plants
  • Oversees monthly-close process across sites
  • Monitor and ensure a strong internal control environment
  • Improve, evolve and standardize KPI/monthly reporting across sites
  • Lead annual operating plan development and quarterly forecasts for sites

The ideal candidate is driven, curious, and organized with a strategic mindset who demonstrates the ability to influence and drive projects to successful completion. You are results-oriented and love using data and metrics to make informative decisions. You have a strong sense of agility while leading and motivating teams regardless of the reporting structure. This individual has a comfort level interfacing with senior management.

You'll be most successful in this role if you have:

  • Demonstrated experience as a plant controller and/or multi-plant management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting measures for operations
  • Experience in supporting internal/external audits related to manufacturing sites & distribution centers
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization
  • People leadership and/or management of teams
  • High personal integrity and strong work ethic

In order to take on these challenges, you'll need to have:

  • Requires 8+ years experience in cost accounting or accounting preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Requires a 4-year college or university degree, or its equivalent, in accounting or finance or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ERP and computerized cost accounting systems, inventory systems, and standard product costing including strong experience in bills of materials, labor, and throughput routings
  • Experience in operational processes and controls in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
