The Sr. Account Analyst is responsible for analyzing the financial condition of existing customers and new prospects, evaluates financial risk and provides risk assessment to management. The Sr. Account Analyst maintains customer credit limits and develops a thorough understanding of customer contract deal points and directs the work activity of the Account Analysts deduction management job function, validates all customer master data changes, and performs various business analysis assignments related to improving customer service and operating efficiencies. The Sr. Account Analyst reports to the Manager, A/R & Credit.

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:

  • Analyzes and validates sales adjustments prepared by Account Analysts ensuring proper reason code and general ledger account assignment.
  • Analyzes and validates all customer pricing, accruals and allowance changes in the JDE Advanced Pricing Module to ensure accuracy and proper controls are in place. Acts as supporting back up for all customer master data changes.
  • Reviews exception orders and account exposure which deviates from established credit controls and takes appropriate course of action to ensure financial risks are minimized prior to all credit hold releases.
  • Leads the OS&D processes for the finance organization. Identifies opportunities to improve customer service and reduce operating expenses by eliminating inefficiencies in order processing and distribution methods; coordinates multi-departmental resolutions to improve operating efficiencies; prepares graphic presentations and reports to illustrate trends.
  • Assesses and identifies credit and collection trends. Advises management of risks that may impact cash flow and profitability. Recommends strategies to reduce or mitigate credit risk and bad debit exposure.
  • Assists training and development of AR staff. Provides insights and the success model in collections and deduction management.

The ideal candidate has strong operating knowledge of accounts receivable, collections and accounting principles. You are a go getter, a team player willing to work with high volume, and adaptable to changing priorities.

You'll be most successful in this role if you have:

  • Ability to make independent decisions and work with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects and reprioritize as necessary to align with current business objectives
  • Recommended and drove process improvements
  • JD Edwards and database management experience
  • Previous experience training and guiding fellow analysts

To take on these challenges, you'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Accounting or Finance related field
  • Proficient knowledge of accounting theory and financial analysis
  • Requires five to seven years of credit, collections and/or deduction management experience
  • Excellent communication, problem solving skills and outstanding customer service orientation
  • Accurate, detail oriented and excellent organizational skills including document control on all assigned matters
  • Advanced Excel skills using vlookups and pivot tables
