The A/R Deduction Analyst is responsible for the deduction management of assigned retailers. This role analyzes and resolves past due receivables and the timely issuance of sales adjustments. Additionally, this role handles the trade promotion actualization, matching sales adjustments with planned promotional events, and develops a full understanding of retailer contracts and vendor compliance requirements. The Account Analyst reports to the Mgr, Credit & AR.
Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:
Analyzes and determines the validity of assigned retailer deductions. Researches trade promotional allowances, compliance violations, and shortages.
Prepares and enters sales adjustments for assigned retailers ensuring proper reason code and general ledger account assignment. Ensures customer's AR Ledger is current.
Ensures timely collection of assigned retailers’ invalid deductions. Advises management of risks that may impact cash flow and profitability.
Provides insights and identifies opportunities to improve customer service and reduce operating expenses by eliminating inefficiencies in order processing and distribution methods.
Interfaces internally with cross-functional partners such as field sales, customer service, and warehouse personnel, as well as externally with retailers to ensure proper documentation is in place
The ideal candidate is a thought leader with an operating knowledge of accounts receivable, collections and accounting principles. You are a go getter who enjoys working collaboratively and cross functionally with the broader organization.
You’ll be most successful in this role if you have:
Excellent communication and problem solving skills; outstanding customer service orientation
Self-motivated with high attention to detail; owns processes and drives success to meet deadlines
Initiative to be self-motivated and willingness to be a team player
Working knowledge of customer service, logistics, and retailer's systems
Familiar with internet websites and downloading data from customer portals
In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance field required.
ARS (Accredited Receivables Specialist) Certification preferred
2-3 years of credit, collections and deduction management experience or other related accounting experience
Advanced PC skills using Excel and JD Edwards preferred
Competent knowledge of accounting theory and financial analysis

Annual Pay Range$56,600.00 - $84,800.00
This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate’s starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.
