Department Leader, Facilities Maintenance (NIGHTS 12 Hr Shift)

Opelika, AL

The overall responsibility of the Lead role is to inspire manufacturing operations to achieve timely daily, weekly, and monthly results in the areas of safety, quality, cost, and reliability while meeting department schedule adherence and attainment goals. Models Pharmavite’s purpose, beliefs, and values for their employees by: Supervising repair and maintenance of buildings, plant equipment. And manufacturing equipment; schedules preventative and predictive maintenance; assists in development of safety programs; Drive to Root cause solutions through using Reliability tools.

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:

  • Supervises repairs to facilities, production equipment, and machinery to minimize downtime, ensure timely completion of repairs, and maintain safe working conditions.

  • Schedules planned maintenance activities including preventative and predictive maintenance, major equipment overhauls, and facility and site improvements to reduce equipment failure and downtime.

  • Directs computerized maintenance systems to ensure data acquisition and equipment histories are accurate and complete.

  • Supervises, trains, and develops department staff to enhance quantity and quality of employee work.

  • Assists in development of a comprehensive safety program and maintains safety work order records to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Recommends, processes, and approves equipment improvements and supervises installation of engineering controls and equipment updates.

  • Assists in developing a comprehensive departmental budget to ensure department stays within budgetary guidelines.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

You’ll be most successful in this role if you have:

  • Competent knowledge of SOPs, cGMPs, within a CPG environment

  • Experience working within a rapidly evolving environment, able to adjust to changing job requirements.

  • Competent knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance programs

  • Good organizational, analytical, problem solving, oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, JD Edwards MRP, and Powerpoint preferred.

  • Working knowledge in MRP, WMS, & radio frequency systems.

  • A four-year degree or its equivalent combination of education/relevant work experience is required.

To take on these challenges, you’ll need to have: 

  • A four year college or university degree is a plus.

Requires five to eight years experience in technical disciplines in Maintenance

Annual Pay

Annual Pay Range

$81,600.00 - $122,400.00

This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate’s starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.  This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.
