Operations Controller Manager (Hybrid)
Valencia, CA
The Manager, Operations Controller role manages all processes related to product costing, inventory valuation, plant spending and cost of goods sold and is responsible for strategic and financial guidance for plant operations and oversee its financial results/budget/forecast. This role reports to the Group Controller and manages a direct report.
Key Responsibilities
Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:
Lead all accounting and financial activities of the Valencia facilities, including but not limited to month end close, account reconciliations, variances analysis, forecast & annual budget etc.
Collaborate with operation teams in the development of the Valencia facilities annual spending budgets/forecast, as well as monitoring periodic performance to budget/forecast/prior year.
Measures, analyzes and reports on manufacturing, material variances and rework & destruction expenses. Recommends strategies to improve manufacturing efficiencies through analysis of production processes, capacities and new technologies.
Validates continuous improvement cost savings projects. Actively participates in ideation, prioritization, and assigning cost savings project resources.
Performs ongoing analysis of inventories to ensure valuation in accordance with GAAP, including determining appropriate reserves. Provides reporting to appropriate parties in order to mitigate obsolescence and minimize reserve requirements.
Interpreting and ensures Company policies and procedures are understood and consistently followed by others.
Collaboratively creating development plans and coaching individuals in achieving them.
Directs audit of all production activity, verifies accuracy of production schedules and ensures timely schedule closing and appropriate recording of variances.

At the same time, you enjoy working with and motivating others to success – regardless of reporting lines, and are comfortable operating with senior management.

Capabilities & Skills Required
In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in accounting or finance or related field.
5+ years' experience in cost accounting or accounting preferably in a manufacturing environment with plant controller experience
Comprehensive knowledge of ERP and computerized cost accounting systems, inventory systems and standard product costing including strong experience in bills of materials, labor, and throughput routings
Previous and/or demonstrated people leadership/management desired
Strong MS Excel skills and proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Good verbal and written communication skills
CPA / CMA desired but not required

Annual Pay Range
$125,100.00 - $187,600.00This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate’s starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.
