The Sr. Manager, Procurement Center of Excellence role is to manage and lead the Procurement Resource Center/Center of Excellence. In this role the focus will be on supporting the Direct and Indirect Sourcing functions via: Market Intelligence/Data Analytics, Sourcing Operations, and Procurement Excellence/Optimization activities. Reports to Procurement Division VP and has an opportunity to bring a high level of curiosity, creativity and new thinking to the business.

Key Responsibilities

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:

  • Work with team members to ensure they develop deep category insight, operational sourcing knowledge, analytical skills and market intelligence.

  • Stand-up Procurement Resource Center as a Center of Excellence in gathering, distilling, and disseminating market intelligence, data analytics and reporting, spend and savings analysis, implementation of Procurement best practices, and support Supplier Relationship Management activities.

  • Track and manage purchase contracts and fulfillment status of each contract. Drive training and sourcing capability building. Leveraging leading technology as an enabler for Procurement activities.

  • Work with Procurement team (Direct and Indirect) and cross-functional department (e.g. Marketing, Finance, etc.) to provide historical, predictive analytics, market assessments and trend analysis. Develop metrics, incorporating external benchmarks to monitor performance and allow for data-driven decision making.

  • Lead the Data and Analytics function to monitor key spending trends, cost drivers, market factors, geographic considerations, supplier performance metrics, cost savings and other data of strategic importance for supporting category managers to build and implement sourcing category strategies.

  • Manage the maintenance of the spend and supplier KPI dashboards, develop additional tracking tools as needed, and produce comprehensive spend, savings & supplier performance reports for management.

  • Manage sourcing-specific activities in the end-to-end Purchase Order and Invoice Source-to-Pay (S2P) process including tracking pricing, quantity, logistics as well as purchase contract administration & management.

  • Actively contribute to and manage the resources responsible for developing training content and conducting training & capability building workshops with the Procurement organization to promote foundational and emerging leading practices.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has experience in Pharma/Biotech and/or FMCG/CPG, environment. Leading a team of six people, this role will deliver maximum value to Pharmavite by managing and developing descriptive and predictive analytics, providing data driven insights, and ensuring best practices and sourcing governance for the Direct and Indirect Sourcing Teams.

Critical Success Factors

  • Advanced communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to speak to different audiences.

  • Strategic and transformative thought leadership. Able to define strategic goals and transform into executable tasks.

  • Think through complex problems and drive to resolution using analysis from multiple sources and compiling information into a clear framework using diverse sources of market intelligence and resources.

  • Experience building operational reports and KPI dashboards.

  • Experience with commodity forecasting and financial modeling a plus.

  • Supply Chain, Advanced Analytics, and Business Intelligence experience.

  • Previous experience leading a team.

  • Advanced level proficiency using negotiations and contracting skills.

  • Cost modeling knowledge.

Capabilities & Skills Required

In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s plus 7+ years of relevant, progressive experience, to preferably include 6 years directly in sourcing within Pharma/Biotech and/or FMCG/CPG is a plus.

  • Master’s plus 6+ years of relevant, progressive experience, to preferably include 4 years directly in sourcing within Pharma/Biotech and/or FMCG/CPG is a plus.

  • Program management experience and project management experience required.

  • Working knowledge with Sourcing Contracting, ERP, eRFX systems preferred (Ariba, Workday, Other).

  • Ability to leverage standard business applications for communicating, presenting and analyzing (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to travel out of state or internationally up to 10% of the time.

Annual Pay

Annual Pay Range

$156,800.00 - $235,200.00

This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate’s starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.  This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.
