The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting site functional technical processes for assigned dosage form as it relates to finding and implementing creative solutions that maximizes value to our customersThis role optimizes products and processes by establishing process capabilities and controls to ensure adherence to standards and continuous verificationsProcess engineer role reports to Manager of Technical Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include: 

  • Periodic review of our products and processes by collecting data, analyzing it and making and implementing recommendations related to the improvements. 

  • Supports Quality and Operation groups through troubleshooting, change controls and Non conformance product investigations 

  • Serves as a technical approver for equipment change request and equipment installation and qualification reports 

  • Create or Updates Master manufacturing batch records for use on the production floor. 

  • Provide training to technical operations, product development and manufacturing staff on new process and/or equipment technologies.

 The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an engineer who has experience working in manufacturing facilities and establishing process capabilities and controls to ensure a reliable and repeatable process. You will be successful in this role if you possess a continuous learning mindset, take pride in the portfolio of products you own and take a bias to continually improve them. 

Critical Success Factors

You’ll be most successful in this role if you have:  

  • Demonstrated a high level of subject matter expertise for assigned dosage form (tableting) and capable of influencing internal and external groups regarding process improvement ideas. 

  • Previous experience of preparing, reviewing and approving technical documents to include but not limited to Quality change requests, product non conformance reports, technical reports, product and process verification/validation protocols. 

  • Good understanding of Factory acceptance test (FAT), Site acceptance test (SAT) and Installation qualification and operations qualification (IQ/OQ) process. 

  • Developed and validated equipment cleaning procedures 

  • Use of problem solving skills through application of industry standard tools (fishbone, 5Why) to identify root cause and implemented short and long term corrective actions to improve upon an existing product/process 

Capabilities & Skills Required

In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have: 

  • Four year college or university degree in Industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, food science or other related science fields. 

  • Two years of industry (preferably in pharmaceutical, nutritional, food or ther consumer packaged goods manufacturing) expreience in manufacturing technical support and/or process/product development, quality engineering and/or testing. 

  • A firm foundation in chemistry, mathematics, or engineering fields 

  • Well developed oral and written communication skills, previous experience in writing and revising SOP’s. 

  • Understanding of Lean concepts and application of design of experiments (DOE)

Annual Pay

Annual Pay Range

$89,100.00 - $133,600.00

This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate’s starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.  This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.
