**Remote (Midwest)/Field Sales**

The Key Account Manager is responsible for contributing to the development, management and growth of Target for PHV including Nature Made, MegaFood and new products This role assists in developing and executing strategic revenue driving activities . Key Account Manager reports to Director of, Sales. 

Key Responsibilities 

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include: 

  • Performs sales and expense goals in assigned area of responsibility. 

  • Prepares a business plan and strategy to gain distribution of all items in designated accounts. 

  • Maintains and grows Pharmavite business at Target 

  • Monitors and identifies competitive activity within channel. 

  • Manages Exceedra forecasting and stays within all budget limits including co-op, promo allowances, travel and entertainment. Works with finance partner to stay within trade allowances and track trade spend.  

  • Manages Pharmavite’s eTail business activity at Target 

  • Professionally manages personnel and brokers effectively to implement the business plan. 

  • Responsible for cultivating relationships with Target on the buyer and merchandise manager level and on higher levels whenever possible. 

  • Complies with all Pharmavite policies and procedures including on-time sales reports, personnel reviews, expense accounts, and meeting notes. 

  • Effectively communicates with Corporate for support and approval of account programs. 

  • Works with the Customer Marketing team to design unique marketing and promotional programs for the Target.  

  • In conjunction with the account team, develops recommendations for products, product mixes, and product positioning to drive revenue. 

  • Attends industry events and tradeshows that enhance knowledge and provide networking opportunities. 

 

Ideal Candidate Profile 

The ideal candidate has strong communication and presentation skills, business acumen to analyze sales, financial data and market trends to make informed decisions, and strong aptitude for building and maintaining relationships internally and with Target.  

Other characterizes include: 

  • Proficient in negotiation tactics 

  • Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams including marketing, finance, supply chain and others 

  • Strong problem-solving abilities – identifies issues and develops creative solutions to overcome challenges  

  • Strong organizational skills  

  • Understanding of the CPG industry, products and competitors within VMS 

  • Motivated to achieve sales targets and exceed performance expectations  

 

Critical Success Factors 

You’ll be most successful in this role if you have: 

  • Competent knowledge in the CPG industry and FDMC channel.  

  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and in presentations.  

  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally. 

  • Ability to work with and lead cross-functional teams 

  • Strong analytical skills. 

  • “Team first” mentality: take on other assignments as needed to support the team. 

  • Knowledge of online retailer and marketplaces; understanding of ecommerce and digital selling channels.  

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite. 

  • Understanding of the P&L and selling strategy to deliver on P&L objectives. 

 

Capabilities & Skills Required 

In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Business or Marketing degree is preferred.

  • Requires 2-5 years field sales experience with either a manufacturer, broker or retailer (purchasing/category buyer) with an emphasis in the HBC (Health & Beauty Care) category preferred.

  •  Key Account experience and headquarter knowledge is preferred.

Annual Pay

Annual Pay Range

$114,493.00 - $171,688.00

This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate’s starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.  This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.
