1st Shift 7am to 3:30pm (Mon-Fri)

The Mechanic II is responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled, journey-level duties in the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment and machinery used in our operations, packaging or facilities. This role is the intermediate level of the job family, and incumbents are expecting perform any or all duties independently.  Mechanic II directly reports to Maintenance Department Leader.

Key Responsibilities

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:

  • Independent Repair and Troubleshooting: Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical and electrical problems on facilities and manufacturing equipment.

  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity. Identify potential issues and proactively implement solutions to prevent equipment failures.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all repairs performed, parts replaced, and time spent using the computerized maintenance management system.

  • Safety: Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures, and identifying potential hazards. Performs duties in compliance with standard operating and safety procedures.

  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers regarding equipment status, repair needs, and estimated timelines.

  • Training and Technical Expertise: Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior mechanics, while also completing required training and workshops.

  • Involved in Continuous Improvement teams and participates in project activities.  Strong problem-solving skills directed at preventive programs to develop solutions to manufacturing problems.

  • Develops and maintains some knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment used by Pharmavite; reviews maintenance manuals when troubleshooting a problem or to learn how to repair equipment.

  • Uses hand tools, portable power tools, machine tools, electrical/diagnostic equipment, fabricating equipment, and material handling equipment to make repairs to facilities and equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyor belts, fans, etc; examines equipment to diagnoses problems; disassembles machines and repairs/replaces broken parts; constructs new parts; adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and experienced Mechanic with a strong foundation in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems.  The candidate is willing to learn, work with others, and provide good customer service.       

   

Critical Success Factors

You’ll be most successful in this role if you have:

  • Knowledge of Intermediate principles, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the installation, preventive & predictive maintenance and repair of industrial/mechanical & electrical equipment and machinery.

  • Proficient skills in setup, repair and troubleshooting in industrial maintenance activities that include the following categories: mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, fabrication (machining and welding, etc.). 

  • Follow and apply written and oral work instructions. Support, promote, and implement  Pharmavite' s and or department’s mission, direction, and policies in a positive and professional manner and any changes to those items.

  • When others have new ideas or different approaches, you will be the one to find the common ground and you strive to communicate effectively with peers and others in the organization.

Capabilities & Skills Required

In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have:

  • High School Diplomas/GED or related college coursework or equivalency experience preferred.

  • Requires a minimum of three years of combined training and experience in similar positions in Maintenance and Manufacturing environment.  Technical certification preferred.

  • Know intermediate math skills which include using addition, subtraction, decimals, geometry, and volume.  Able to read and apply blueprints and technical manuals in your work.

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft programs and other manufacturing software applications (i.e. spreadsheets, word, email, computerized maintenance management systems – such as JDE/SAP, etc.).

  • Fluent English skills to read/understand complex maintenance manuals, safety procedures, research technical publications for information, communicate with supervisors and others, and maintain routine records.

  • Stand/walk and perform physcial labor for most of the working shift. Pull, push, squat, etc. to accomplish repairs. Intermittently lift load of up to 50 pounds.

Annual Pay

Annual Pay Range

$59,963.00 - $89,995.00

This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate’s starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.  This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.

Pharmavite provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non-exempt (hourly) employees in accordance with state and federal law. The need to work overtime hours will be determined by management, based on customer and business necessity to meet the needs of our business, Pharmavite may require employees to work overtime.

Voluntary overtime requested by non-exempt employees must be approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor.
